Equipment
Rental Advice from the Experts
Before
reserving equipment and/or
services from an entertainment
company it would be a good
idea to ask whether or not
they are licensed and insured.
A legitimate company should
be able to produce proof
of both a license and liability
insurance. At best, it would
be a risky proposition to
deal with a “questionable
company” who is not
licensed and insured.
An
entertainment company who
has been around a while
will have much more experience
with the safe installation
and removal of equipment.
It should be evident that
the entertainment company
considers safety a high
priority. For example, an
experienced safety-minded
company would never set
up a moonbounce in the rain
or high winds. Always ask
about any policies they
may have.
When
looking for an entertainment
company, price should not
be the only consideration.
Today, more and more manufacturers
are producing low grade/poor
quality equipment at a lower
price. Much of this equipment
is made in China. Some entertainment
companies tempted by the
cheaper prices are purchasing
this equipment to increase
their profit margin and
to make claims of having
a better selection. Ultimately,
this is at the expense of
the potential customer.
It’s
difficult to know whether
the equipment will be of
good quality, well maintained
and arrive clean or not.
One very good option would
be to ask for references.
There is no excuse for equipment
to arrive dirty or in poor
condition. If the company
has a website, it could
be helpful to view it.
